Gifted Mexican baritone, during his career he has performed more than 50 roles of the main Italian, French, German and Russian repertoires. Highlights include his vibrant interpretations of Germont (La Traviata), Posa (Don Carlo), Ford (Falstaff), Albiani (Simon Boccanegra), Renato (Un ballo in maschera), Francesco (I Masnadieri), Giacomo (Giovanna D’Arco) and  Stankar (Stiffelio).  Further, it’s important to note the world premiers of Chief Joseph of Zender (2006), Dulce Rosa of Holdridge (2013) and his recent roles as Macbeth, Scarpia in Tosca, Zurga in Les pêcheurs de perles, Conte di Luna in Il trovatore.

Thanks to his powerful and expressive voice, along with with his stage presence, he has shared the stage with outstanding figures such as Anna Netrebko, Angela Gheorghiu, Jonas Kaufmann, René Pape, Roberto Alagna or Plácido Domingo under the baton of extraordinary conductors like Kent Nagano, Zubin Mehta, Simon Rattle, Antonio Pappano, Andris Nelsons, James Conlon, Gustavo Dudamel, Massimo Zanetti, Maurizio Benini, Donato Renzetti and Stefano Ranzani, among others.

Daza is invited to prestigious international stages; among them being the Lincoln Center in New York as well as operas in Washington, San Francisco, Los Ángeles, Detroit and Canadian Opera of Toronto in North America; Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Carlo Felice di Genova, Comunale di Bologna, Lirico di Cagliari, Verdi di Trieste en Italia; Staatsoper Hamburg, Staatsoper Stuttgart, Oper Cologne, Théâtre Royale of Monnaie in Germany and Belgium, as well as the New National Theater in Tokyo, the National Center of Performing Arts in Beijing and the Palacio de Bellas Artes de Ciudad de México. With this venue he maintains a long list of artistic collaboration, having recently sung at two premiers, debuting the role of  Macbeth and interpreting Stankar de Stiffelio. Daza has also participated in important festivals like the Festtage Berlin, Festival of Glyndebourne and the St. Gallen Festpiele.

Between 2004 and 2018 he sung as First Baritone at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, by direct invitation fof Maestro. Daniel Barenboim.

Alfredo Daza began his musical education at the Conservatory of his hometown, Puebla (México). After winning the Concurso Nacional de Canto “Carlo Morelli” (1991) at an early age, he enrolled at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música of his country and then became an "Adler Fellow" of the San Francisco Opera.

He has recorded with prestigious labels such as Deutsche Grammophon (Manon de Massenet with Barenboim, Netrebko, Villazon), Harmonia Mundi (L’elisir d’amore at the Festival de Glyndebourne with Benini, Auty, Siurina) and MSM Records (Stolen notes: Verdi Arias with Parma Opera Ensamble and Angel & Demon together with Anna Samuil). Soon it will be released Falstaff by Verdi conducted by Daniel Barenboim with Michel Volle, Daniela Barcellona, Barbara Frittoli and Nadine Sierra. He has also participated in the live broadcast of La Bohème from the Lincoln Center for PBS / Live (Manahan – Kaniova – Villazón – Daza – Manahan).

Among his recent and futures engagements we highlight Falstaff (Ford) with Barenboim and Bohéme (Marcello) with Soddy at the Staatsoper Berlin; Il trovatore (Conte di Luna) in St. Gallen; Les pêcheurs de perles at the  NCPA de Beijín with Renzetti, Macbeth at the  Bellas Artes with Guidarini; an Opera gala with Olga Peretyatko at the Platonov International Festival (Russia) and Lucia di Lammermoor (Lord Enrico) at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
