Leo Muscato

Leo Muscato is an Italian Director and play-writer. He studied Literature and Philosophy at La Sapienza University in Rome. When he was twenty years old, he started to work as an actor in the professional theatre company of Luigi De Filippo. In 1997 he moved to Milan to study Direction at the School of Dramatic Art "Paolo Grassi". His work has been subject for four thesis graduation in different Universities.

He also teaches drama, acting and direction in several Master Classes. 

Since few years ago, he's keeping focus on exploring the four main styles of interpretation: tragedy, drama, comedy and clownerie.

In 2007 he won the A.N.C.T. PRIZE, the Press Award as Best Theatre Director. In 2013 he won the ABBIATI PRIZE, the Press Award as Best Opera Director. In 2016 he received the INTERNATIONAL OPERA AWARD – OSCAR DELLA LIRICA as Best Opera Director. He’s shooting his first feature film.
