Mercedes Arcuri

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she studied at Instituto superior de arte del Teatro Colón and privately with Inés Dupen and Horacio Amauri. She also studied Orchestra Conducting at the Universidad Católica Argentina .

She has developed her career in Europe for 10 years, singing in France (Opéra de Lyon, Opéra de Clermont-Ferrand, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence), Spain (Seville’s Teatro de la Maestranza, Ópera de Las Palmas, Madrid’s Teatro Real, Festival de Ópera de La Coruña, Teatro de la Zarzuela, etc), Germany (Gärtnerplatztheater, Munich), Ireland (Wexford Opera Festival), United Kingdom (London Handel Festival, and also Uruguay (Teatro Solís), Argentina (Teatro Avenida), Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, etc.. under the baton of conductors like Nicola Luisotti, Pedro Halffter, Giacomo Sagripanti, Alan Curtis, Gunter Neuhold, Martin Brabbins, etc

Her vast repertoire includes roles such us as Ariadne auf Naxos’ Zerbinetta, Rigoletto’s Gilda, Don Pasquale’s Norina, L’elisir d’amore’s Adina, Cenerentola’s Clorinda, L’enfant et les sortilèges’ The Fire, among others…

Among her recent and future performances we highlight Rigoletto at Madrid’s Teatro Real, La guerra de los gigantes de S. Durón at Teatro de la Zarzuela  and concerts in France, Germany, Finland, etc.. 

She has been finalist in many Singing Competitions such as “Luis Mariano 2007”  “Concours de Chant de Marmande, 2008” and  won: 2nd price on the International Singing contest of  Logroño (Spain) , two scholarships offered by Maestro Dalton Baldwin on the Francisco Viñas’ Competition 2008 and 3rd. Price on the International Singing Competiton in Zamora (Spain).
