Ruth Iniesta
Born in Zaragoza, she studied piano and musical language at the Conservatorio Arturo Soria in Madrid, where she received an honors diploma in all areas of study. She complemented her studies with a career in musical theater, performing leading roles in major Spanish productions. She completed her studies of operatic theater at the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid under the direction of maestra Virginia Prieto. She continues to train with maestro Juan Lomba.

She received the award for “Best Spanish Music Performer” in the XIII Jacinto Guerrero International Singing Competition in 2011 and the „Special Award“ in the 2012 International Singing Competition in Bilbao. Thanks to this award, she was able to study singing and vocal repertoire in Vienna and Salzburg in August of 2013 with maestro Helen Donath and repertoire specialist Istvan Cserjan.

Her most notable performances include El huésped del sevillano (Constancica) at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid and at the Nine Gates Festival in Prague; Doña Francisquita (title role) at the Classics in Alcalá Festival under the direction of Juan Polanco and César Belda; La vida breve (Carmela) in a production called Ay, amor! under the baton of Juanjo Mena and Guillermo-García Calvo, El diablo en el poder (Elisa) and Luna de miel en El Cairo (Martha) at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid; Aida (Sacerdotisa) in concert  version at the Auditorio Nacional conducted by Cristóbal Soler; La del manojo de rosas (Clarita) directed by E. Sagi and conducted by M. Á.  Gómez Martínez at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid and at the Teatro de la Maestranza; L’elisir d’amore, as Giannetta at the Kursaal in San Sebastián and at the Teatro Principal in Zaragoza and as Adina in Valdepeñas, Toledo, Pamplona and Guadalajara; Desde el Martín al Apolo, La salsa de Aniceta y El terrible Pérez at the Auditorio in Cuenca; Death in Venice at the Teatro Real and The Four Note Opera at the Teatros del Canal; La del manojo de rosas at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo of Bogotá; Don Pasquale at Teatro Gayarre; Suor Angelica and Falstaff at Palacio de la Ópera de Coruña; a Zarzuela Gala at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid; Trilogía de Tonadillas by Blas de Laserna at the Fundación Juan March;  Carmina Burana with the ORCAM at the Auditorio Nacional; Messiah with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife at the  Laguna’s Cathedral and Auditorio de Tenerife; El Terrible Pérez at the Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo; El Sombrero de Tres Picos with the Staatskapelle Berlin; a Lyric Gala at Teatro de la Zarzuela with Plácido Domingo; another Lyric Gala at the Auditorio Nacional with Leo Nucci and Patricia Barton; an Opera and Zarzuela Gala with the Orquesta de RTVE; Der kaiser von Atlantis at Teatro Real in Madrid;  La donna del lago and Il cerchio magico at the Rossini Opera Festival de Pesaro.

In concert and oratorio she has sung Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate with the Orquesta de Universidad Complutense and Carmina Burana with the Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid at the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, besides recitals at the Teatro Jovellanos in Gijón (with Jorge Robaina), in Saronno (with Giulio Zappa), at the Teatro Principal de Zaragoza and a Zarzuela concert with the Orquesta Verum in El Escorial.

Her recent performances and future engagements include Les pêcheurs de perles in Santiago de Compostela and Vigo, Werther at Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Don Giovanni at the Auditori de Manacor, Tonadillas in Cáceres and Badajoz with the Orquesta de Extremadura, Die Zauberflöte at Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Chateau Margaux / La Viejecita at Teatro de la Zarzuela, Ein Deutsches Requiem by in Cuenca, Tonadillas in Prague, Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Tonadillas in Prague, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at the El Escorial, Il viaggio a Reims at Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu, Medea at the Wexford Festival Opera, La Bohème at Teatro Comunale de Bologna, Le nozze di Figaro at Teatre Principal de Palma, a recital A Joaquín Rodrigo – Notas en el Ambigú at Teatro de la Zarzuela and Don Giovanni at Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

In 2015 she was awarded “Best New Artist” in the III Codalario Music Awards, and she also received the award for “Best New Artist“ in the X Fundación Teatro Campoamor Lyric Awards.
