From January 4th to 7th 2013, Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu staged Vincenzo Bellini’s “Il Pirata”, featuring Gregory Kunde in the leading role. His success could not have been more resounding or acclaimed both by the critics and the audience. His next engagement will be Verdi’s “I Vespri Siciliani” at Athens’ Greek National Opera, which commemorates the 200th anniversary of Giuseppe Verdi’s birth with this title. Mr. Kunde will play the already well-known and difficult role of Arrigo in four performances, beginning on January 18th, at the Megaron Athens Concert Hall. The show has been newly produced and will feature stage direction by Renato Zanella. Myron Michailidis will be conducting the Greek National Opera Orchestra.
