Alfonso Romero Mora will direct Luisa Fernanda at the Theater Nordhausen

From November 18th, 2016 to March 8th, 2017 the Theater Nordhausen, in the German city of Nordhausen (state of Thuringia), will be staging the zarzuela Luisa Fernanda, a lyric comedy in three acts by Federico Moreno Torroba. A brilliant example of this Spanish lyric genre, Luisa Fernanda takes place in Isabelline Madrid and tells a story of love in tumultuous times. The text was written by Federico Romero and Guillermo Fernández Shaw.
The Madrid-born composer Alfonso Romero Mora is in charge of stage direction of the production, which will feature the voices of Sabine Noack (Luisa Fernanda), Manos Kia (Vidal Hernando), Zinzi Frohwein (Duquesa Carolina), Angelos Samartzis (Javier Moreno), Uta Haase (Mariana) and Marian Kalus (Anibal), among others. Michael Helmrath will be conducting.
Alfonso Romero Mora will soon be directing Così fan tutte in Aranjuez, La fille du régiment in Palmas de Gran Canaria and Andrea Chenier in Bilbao.
