The work premiered in 1998 under the title “¡Ay, amor¡”, chosen by its stage director Herbert Wernicke, who passed away in 2002. The stage direction in Madrid will be entrusted to Wendelin Lang. Herbert Wernicke’s set design is inspired by Julio Romero de Torres’ paintings.
