Award Ceremony for the Prémios Liricos Teatro Campoamor features Gregory Kunde and Carmen Romeu among the award-winners

The Awards Ceremony for the 8th Edition of the Prémios Liricos Teatro Campoamor will take place on March 29th at Oviedo’s Teatro Campoamor. Tenor Gregory Kunde and soprano Carmen Romeu are among the award-winners in different categories. These awards are considered to be the most prestigious in the opera world in Spain.  Gregory Kunde received the award for Best Male Opera Singer for his performances of Verdi’s Otello at Valencia’s Palau Les Arts (June 2013), Henri in Verdi’s “Les Vepres Siciliennes” at the ABAO (February 2013), and Gualtiero in Bellini’s “Il Pirata” at the Gran Teatre del Liceu (January 2013). Carmen Romeu received the award for Best New Singer for her performances of Musetta in Puccini’s “La Bohème” at Valencia’s Palau Les Arts (December 2012) and the same role at the ABAO (May 2013), as well as Marina in “Arrieta” at Madrid’s Teatro de la Zarzuela (March 2013). The Gala will be stage directed by José Carlos Plaza. As usual, the Orquesta Oviedo Filarmonía and Capilla Polifónica Ciudad de Oviedo will providedmusical accompaniment.
