The Valencia-born soprano Carmen Romeu will be a soloist in Manuel de Falla's El sombrero de tres picos, which will conclude this year's Festival de Música y Danza de Granada. It will be on July 12th at the Palacio de Carlos V, with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra playing under the baton of Pablo Heras-Casado. The performance marks the centennial of the premiere of Manuel de Falla's well-known work. Stravinsky's suite Pulcinella will also be performed at the concert, along with the world premiere of a work by Peter Eötvös: Alhambra, concierto para violín y orquesta, with the soloist Isabelle Faust. Set design and the visual track are in the hands of Frederic Amat.

Carmen Romeu has already sung El sombrero de tres picos with the same orchestra and director at three different venues: L’Auditori de Barcelona, the Auditorio de Zaragoza and the Auditorio y Centro de Congresos de Murcia.

Among the singer's upcoming engagements is Rinaldo at the Teatro Campoamor of Oviedo.
