2016-04-12

The American tenor Gregory Kunde returns to the stage of Valencia’s principal theatre after his recent success with Samson et Dalila, this time to interpret Idomeneo in the opera of the same name, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Performances will run from April 21st through May 4th.
Following her triumphs in Armida in Ghent and Otello in Vienna, the Valencia-born soprano Carmen Romeu is also returning to Les Arts, where she performed in 2012, as Musetta in La Bohème. Now she will be singing the role of Electra in this new production of Idomeneo.
Stage direction is by Davide Livermore. The musical directors will be Fabio Biondi, who will conduct the first four performances, and José Ramón Martín, who will take up the baton for the last performance. They will be conducting the Orquesta de la Comunitat Valenciana and the Cor de la Generalitat Valenciana.
