2012-01-16

From January 17th to February 6th, Copenhagen’s Royal Danish Opera will house eight performances of Christoph Willibad Gluck’s “Alceste”. Tenor Gregory Kunde will play the role of Admetos, showing his remarkable versatility alternating baroque music between his previous Rossini (“Semiramide”) and his next Meyerbeer (“Les Huguenots”). This is a co-production by the Wiener Staatsoper and Aix-en-Provence, featuring stage direction by Christof Loy. Lars Ulrik Mortensen will be conducting the The Royal Danish Opera Chorus and the Concerto Copenhagen Orchestra.
