Henning Kraggerud and Simone Lamsma together in Concert

2012-06-06

On June 14th, Simone Lamsma and Henning Kraggerud will perform together within the framework of the Holland Festival. The violinists will play two major works of contemporary music — Arvo Pärt’s “Tabula rasa” and Alfred Schnittke’s “Concerto Grosso No. 1”. It has been 35 years since both works have been played in the same concert. This time, the event will commemorate the 30th anniversary of violinist Gidon Kremer. The program will also include a work by Estonian composer Toivo Tulev, who was at the concert in 1977. Martyn Brabbins will be conducting the Radio Kamer Filharmonie at the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. Subsequently, on June 23rd, Henning Kraggerud will perform in the overture of Festspillene I Nord-Norge 2012, in a tribute concert to Menuhin, inspired by “Everybody has the right to music”, featuring the Tromsø Chamber Orchestra. On that same day, Simone Lamsma will return to the Holland Festival and the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, this time for a concert with the Residentie Orkest, conducted by Reinbert de Leeuw.
