Madrid’s Teatro Real will stage Verdi’s “Macbeth” featuring Dmitry Ulyanov and Marifé Nogales

Beginning on December 2nd, Madrid’s Teatro Real will stage eight performances of Giuseppe Verdi’s “Macbeth”, featuring bass Dmitry Ulyanov in the role of Banco. The singer will come back after his recent and outstanding success at that same stage in the role of Pimen (“Boris Godunov”). The cast will include Marifé Nogales as Lady Macbeth’s lady-in-waiting, who has also offered an outstanding performance recently in “Thais” at Seville’s Teatro de la Maestranza. The show has been produced by Opéra Nationale de Paris and Novosibirsk’s Opera, featuring stage direction by Dmitri Tcherniakov. Greek Teodor Currentzis will be conducting the Coro y Orquesta Titulares del Teatro Real (Coro Intermezo and Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid).
