Pedro Halffter conducts La Bohème at Teatro de la Maestranza

At the Teatro de la Maestranza of Seville, from May 28th to June 10th, audiences will have the opportunity to see La Bohème, an opera in four acts composed by Puccini to a libretto by G. Giacosa and L. Illica. The opera is based on the Henry Murger novel Scènes de la vie de bohème, originally published as a series of stories. The opera premiered in 1896 and ever since this portrait of the bohemian life of a group of artists in mid 19th C. Paris has been a favourite of audiences everywhere.This production of Palau de Les Arts of Valencia by Davide Livermore will be conducted by Pedro Halffter, who will be leading the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, the chorus of the Association of Friends of the Teatro de la Maestranza and the children's choir Escolanía de los Palacios.
Pedro Halffter recently conducted Tannhäuser and Die Zauberflöte at the Teatro de la Maestranza, Pikovaya Dame in Budapest, and concerts with the New Japan Philharmonic, Essener Philharmonikerm and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, and will soon be conducting the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid.
