2013-02-13

After her recent success in “La Bohème”, at Valencia’s Palau Les Arts, soprano Carmen Romeu will sing Gioacchino Rossini’s “Stabat Mater”, with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Euskadi and the prestigious Orfeón Donostiarra. The five concerts, which will take place in different towns, will be given in collaboration with Pesaro’s Accademia Rossiniana — on March 2nd and 4th, at San Sebastian’s Auditorio Kursaal; on March 5th, at Bilbao’s Palacio Euskalduna; on March 7th, at Vitoria’s Teatro Principal, and on March 9th, at Pamplona’s Auditorio Baluarte. The program will include Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga’s “Stabat Mater”. The concerts will be conducted by Jose Miguel Pérez Sierra. The soprano’s most immediate engagement will be the leading role in the opera “Marina”, at Madrid’s Teatro de La Zarzuela.
