Saioa Hernández sings the role of Maddalena di Coigny in Andrea Chénier at several Italian theatres

Following her great success as Odabella in Attila, which opened the season at the Teatro alla Scala of Milan, Saioa Hernández will give life to Maddalena di Coigny in the opera Andrea Chénier. Composed by Umberto Giordano and based on the life of the French poet André Chénier, this historical drama will be staged at the Teatro Comunale di Modena  (February 15th and 17th), the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza (February 22nd and 24th), Teatro Valli di Reggio Emilia (March 1st and 3rd) and Teatri Alighiere di Ravenna (March 6th and 8th).  Performing alongside the Madrid-born soprano will be, among others, Martin Muehle in the title role, Claudio Sgura as Carlo Gérard, Nozomi Kato as the mulatta Bersi and Shay Bloch in the role of the Countess of Coigny. All of them will be conducted by Aldo Sisillo, standing before the Orchestra Regionale dell’Emilia-Romagna and the Coro Lírico Terre Verdiane. Stage direction is in the hands of Nicola Berloffa.

Upcoming debuts by Saioa Hernández include Leonora (Forza del destino) at the National Centre for the Performing Arts of Beijing (China), Abigaille (Nabucco) at the Semperoper of Dresden (Germany) with Plácido Domingo and also Lady Macbeth (Macbeth) at the Sferisterio di Macerata (Italy).
