Saioa Hernández sings the title role of La Gioconda, by Ponchielli, at the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza

La Gioconda,  a four-act opera composed by Amilcare Ponchielli to an Italian libretto by Arrigo Boito, based on Victor Hugo’s play Angélo, tyran de Padoue, will be on stage at the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza on March 16th and 18th. The title role will be sung by the soprano Saioa Hernández, part of a reputed cast of singers that includes Francesco Meli (Enzo Grimaldo), Sebastian Catana (Barnaba), Anna Maria Chiure (Laura Adorno) and Giacomo Prestia (Alvise Badoero). They will be conducted by the Maestro Daniele Callegari, who will stand before the Orchestra Regionale dell’Emilia Romagna, the Coro del Teatro Municipale di Piacenza and the Voci Bianche del Coro Farnesiano di Piacenza. Federico Bartolani is in charge of the stage direction of this co-production by the Teatri di Piacenza, Teatro Comunale di Modena and the Teatri di Reggio Emilia.
Saioa Hernández will soon be performing in Tosca, at the Teatro Regio di Parma and again in the leading role.
