Vasily Petrenko in Saint Petersburg, Valladolid, Geneva and Oporto

On April 21st, Vasily Petrenko will conduct Wagner’s "Der fliegende Holländer” at Saint Petersburg’s Mikhailovsky in a production that originally premiered in July of 2013. Later, the maestro will conduct the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla and León and violinist Ray Chen in three concerts on April 24th and 25th at Valladolid’s Auditorio Miguel Delibes, and on May 3rd at Oporto’s Casa da Música. The program includes a piece commissioned by the OSCyL from composer Albert Guinovart, Tchaikovski’s "Violin Concerto (with orchestra) in D Mayor, Op. 35” and Prokofiev’s "Symphony No. 6.” On May 1st, he will conduct the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande at Geneva’s Victoria Hall with works by Rossini, Chopin (Concerto No. 1, with Elisabeth Leonskaja) and Beethoven. Meanwhile, Petrenko will continue with his regular activities with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
