Vasily Petrenko will conduct the Oslo Philharmonic at the Hong Kong Arts Festival

On March 14th and 15th, the Russian conductor Vasily Petrenko will stand before the Oslo Philharmonic, of which he has been chief director since 2013, to conduct two concerts featuring Russian and Nordic music. The concerts are part of the 45th edition of the Hong Kong Arts Festival. On March 14th the works to be performed are: the Peer Gynt Suite no. 1, Op 46 by Grieg, Cello Concerto no. 1 in E-flat major, Op 107 by Shostakovich and Symphony no. 2 in E minor, Op 27 by Rachmaninov. On March 15th the programme will be as follows: extracts from 100 Folk Tunes from Hardanger by Geirr Tveitt, the Cello Concerto in E-minor, Op 85 by Elgar and Symphony no. 2 in D major, Op 43 by Sibelius. At both concerts the cello soloist will be the Norwegian Truls Mørk.
