Alberto Miguélez Rouco

He was born in La Coruña (Spain) in 1994, where he studied singing with tenor Pablo Carballido del Camino and Piano with Cristina López. In 2012 he began his singing studies at the Musik Akademie Basel, where he studies with the mezzosoprano Rosa Domínguez, finishing his Master Degree in 2017.

In opera, he has recently sung:
• Händel’s Ottone (role: Adelberto) at the Innsbrucker Festwochen, in 2019
• Legrenzi’s La divisione del mondo (role: La Discordia). Conducted by Christophe Rousset, at Strasbourg, Nancy and Versailles, in 2019
• Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria (roles: Umana fragilità and Pisandro) at the Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, in 2018
• Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas (roles: Sorceress and Spirit), conducted by Paul Agnew with the Ambronay Baroque Accademy in 2017.
• In September 2019 he recorded with his ensemble Los Elementos José de Nebra’s baroque zarzuela Vendado es Amor, no es ciego, for the discographic label Glossa.

As a soloist in oratorio he has sung Händel’s Messiah, Ode for the birthday of Queen Anne, and Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno (Disinganno) under the direction of Paul Agnew (Trondheim Baroque Festival), Bach’s John Passion, Pasquini’s Il San Vito (at Boston Early Music Festival), Michael Haydn’s Requiem in c-moll, Hasse’s Miserere in c-moll, Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine, Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Sparrow Mass and Trinitas Mass, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Magnificat and Beatus Vir, Charpentier’s Te Deum and Traetta’s Stabat Mater.

He regularly attends to masterclasses with renowned singers and teachers like Margreet Honig, Sara Mingardo, Mariella Devia, Philippe Jaroussky, Valerie Guillorit, Christine Schäfer, Alessandro de Marchi, Sophie Daneman, Carlos Mena and Maria Cristina Kiehr, and has worked with conductors like Paul Agnew, Christophe Rousset, Jordi Savall, Gabriel Garrido, Lionel Sow or Josep Pons.

He has performed with orquestras such as Le Concert des Nations, Hesperion XXI, Trondheim Baroque Orchestra, Les talens Lyriques, Café Zimmermann, la Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Ensemble Elyma, Musica Fiorita and La Grande Chapelle.

In May 2021 we will take part of Les Arts Florissants production of Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, at the operas of Nantes and Angers. OrfeWinner of the X Jardin des voix, he will perform the role of Arminio of Händel’s Partenope around the world under William Christie (2021-2022).

Since 2020 we is a member of Philippe Jaroussky’s voice Academy.
