Born in Madrid, Gerardo Bullón studies with Virginia Prieto, Julián Molina, Daniel Muñoz and Ricardo Muñiz. After graduating in Law, he continues his training at the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid and Dramatic Art.
He works as a soloist with conductors such as Nicola Luisotti, Ivor Bolton, Óliver Díaz, Guillermo García Calvo, Jordi Bernácer, Horvath Jozsef ... as well as stage directors such as José Carlos Plaza, Graham Vick, Robert Wilson, Deborah Warner, Gustavo Tambascio, Ángel Montesinos, Eduardo Bazo, among others.
He performs important roles in the operatic repertoire (Don Giovanni, Gianni Schicchi, Tosca, Rigoletto, Madama Butterfly, Carmen, Così fan tutte, L'elisir d'amore, Il barbiere di Siviglia, La finta giardiniera, La Bohème...) and 'zarzuela' (La Revoltosa, Marina, El dúo de la Africana, Los diamantes de la corona, La gallina ciega, Luisa Fernanda, El Barquillero, La Chulapona, El bateo, Agua, azucarillos y aguardiente...).
Throughout these years, his collaboration with Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid is very intense, becoming a regular singer of this theater. He participates in the productions La verbena de la Paloma, Curro Vargas, Black el Payaso, La Gran Duquesa de Gerolstein, Los diamantes de la corona,Pinocho, El Gato Montés, Tres sombreros de copa, La Tempranica, Vida breve, Benamor, El barberillo de Lavapiés, Pan y toros and more recently, La Dolores and the absolut premiere of El caballero de Olmedo.
In 2017 he steps on the stage of Teatro Real in Madrid for the first time in two productions: Billy Budd by Britten and El gato con botas by Montsalvatge. At the beginning of 2018 he returns to the Madrid coliseum with Street scene by Kurt Weill, a production that he repeats in 2020 at Monte Carlo Opera House, followed by Puccini's Turandot, Menotti's El teléfono, the role of Angelotti in Tosca, to great critical and public acclaim, and finally Prokofiev's The fiery angel, directed by Calixto Bieito.
His professional career continues on an upward trajectory with engagements such as Il finto sordo by Manuel García and El pájaro de dos colores by Conrado del Campo at Fundación March, and Don Giovanni (Masetto) and I puritani (Riccardo) at the opera of A Coruña. He makes his debut at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona in the role of Barone Douphol in La Traviata and takes on another challenge: his debut as Sharpless in Madama Butterfly at Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville and as Count Gil in Wolf-Ferrari's Il segreto di Susanna in Córdoba.
His immediate future is marked by the debut of two important roles: Scarpia at Stuttgart Staatsoper and Puck of Las golondrinas at Zarzuela, as well Sharpless at Teatro Real.
