Alfonso Romero Mora stages El gato montés at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern

Between May 26th and June 9th, the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern will be staging El gato montés, an opera in three acts written and composed by the Spanish composer Manuel Penella Moreno about the rivalry between a bullfighter, Rafael Ruiz, and a bandolero, Juanillo (also known as el Gato montés, or the Wild Cat) for the love of a gypsy woman named Soleá. Musical direction will be in the hands of Rodrigo Tomillo, conducting the Orchester des Pfalztheaters, the Chor des Pfalztheaters, the Extrachor des Pfalztheaters, the Kinderchor des Pfalztheaters and a cast that includes, in the main roles, Andiswa Makana (Soleá), Rosario Chávez (Gitana), Polina Artsis (Frasquita), Monika Hügel (Loliya), Antonio Carlos Moreno (Rafael Ruiz) and Daniel de Vicente (Juanillo).
Among Alfonso Romero Mora's upcoming engagements are Luisa Fernanda at the Auditorio de Tenerife and La Cenerentola at the Theater Koblenz.
