Andreas Spering conducting "Bach’s Christmas Oratorio" in Denmark


On December 17th and 18th, Maestro Andreas Spering will lead the Copenhagen Phil and the Københavns Drengekor, the children’s choir of Copenhagen, in their performance of the "Christmas Oratorio" by Johann Sebastian Bach. The concerts will take place at the Maribo Cathedral and the Copenhagen Cathedral, respectively. The soloists will be the soprano Hannah Morrison, the mezzo Mélodie Ruvio, the tenor Bernhard Berchtold and the bass Thomas E. Bauer.

Andreas Spering is a leading specialist in historically informed performance. This season he is resident conductor at Staatstheater Mainz, where he is in charge of a new production of The Fairy Queen and where he will soon conduct a new production of Medée.
