Bass Wojtek Gierlach will sing in Ivan the Terrible and in Don Giovanni's final scene at the Centro Cultural de Belém

Wojtek Gierlach will again be taking part in the “Dias da Música 2017” festival at the Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon. On April 28th the Polish bass will perform Ivan the Terrible with the mezzo-soprano Larissa Savchenko and the narrator Miguel Moreira. Musical direction will be by Mykola Diadiura, who will stand before the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa and the Coro de la Fundación Princesa de Asturias. Ivan el Terrible is in fact the soundtrack that Prokofiev composed for the films made by Sergei Eisenstein about the Russian Czar. After the composer's death, Alexander Stasevick made a new arrangement of the music, turning it into a cantata, which is the version that will be performed in the Centro Cultural de Belém.
And on April 29th, Wojtek Gierlach will sing in Don Giovanni (final scene) with the Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa and Pedro Carneiro as conductor, also as part of the “Días de Música 2017” series. The concert is entitled “Mozart e Da Ponte”. Performing with Gierlach will be the soloists Ana María Pinto (soprano), Luís Rodrigues (baritone) and José Corvelo (baritone).
