Carmen Romeu sings lead role in Las Golondrinas, the first production of the new season at Teatro de la Zarzuela

Between October 7th and 23rd, at Madrid's Teatro de la Zarzuela, audiences will have the chance to see Las Golondrinas, an unsettling tragedy about jealousy set in a travelling circus, with a clown as the main character. This three-act lyrical drama, with music by José María Usandizaga and libretto by Gregorio Martínez Sierra and María de Lejárraga, will be conducted by Óliver Díaz and stage direction will be by Giancarlo del Monaco.
Following her triumphs in Armida in Ghent, Otello in Vienna and Idomeneo in Les Arts, Carmen Romeu will sing the leading role of Lina in the first cast of this production. In the near future, the soprano will be singing in Otello and La Bohème at the Teatro di San Carlo of Naples and again in Las Golondrinas in Oviedo.
