Carmen Romeu will play the role of Musetta in a new production of “La Bohème” at Valencia’s Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia

Valencia’s Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia will stage Giacomo Puccini’s “La Bohème”, featuring soprano Carmen Romeu in the role of Musetta. The show has been co-produced by the Palau de Les Arts and the Opera Company of Philadelphia. Stage direction, set design, and lighting have been entrusted to Davide Livermore. Riccardo Chailly will be conducting the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, Cor de la Generalitat Valenciana, and Escolanía de la Mare de Déu dels Desamparats. Beginning on December 2nd, there will be seven performances of this new Puccinian production. The soprano’s upcoming engagements include this same role at Bilbao’s Palacio Euskalduna, within the framework of the ABAO season, and the leading role in the opera “Marina” at Madrid’s Teatro de la Zarzuela.
