Carmen Romeu will sing Desdemona in the Otello staged at the Teatro di San Carlo of Naples

From November 30th to December 6th, the Teatro di San Carlo of Naples will be staging Gioacchino Rossini's Otello. Carmen Romeu will be performing in this three-act opera, whose libretto is by Berio di Salsi, based on Shakespeare's Othello, the Moor of Venice. The soprano from Valencia will give life to Otello's wife Desdemona, victim of her husband's jealousy. The musical direction of this Otello will be in the hands of Gabriele Ferro, who will lead the Orchestra e Coro del Teatro di San Carlo. Stage direction is by Amos Gitai.
Recent performances by Carmen Romeu include La bohème at the Teatro Campoamor, Armida at the Opera Vlaanderen, Rossini's Otello at the Theater an der Wien, Idomeneo at the Palau de les Arts, Clementina at the Teatro de la Zarzuela and also at the Auditorio Manuel de Falla - with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada - and Las Golondrinas at the Teatro de la Zarzuela. And we will have the opportunity to see her again soon in La Bohème, at the Teatro di San Carlo of Naples and in Las Golondrinas, this time in Oviedo.
