Celso Albelo will come back to the Wiener Staatsoper playing the role of Elvino in Bellini’s “La Sonnambula”

Celso Albelo will play the role of Elvino in Vincenzo Bellini’s “La Sonnambula” at the Wiener Staatsoper. The tenor had recently a resounding success at that same stage playing the role of Nemorino, in “L’Elisir d’Amore”. On this occasion, “La Sonnambula” will be staged featuring the well-known co-production with London’s Royal Opera House Covent Garden. It was with this same production that the singer made his debut at that theater in London in November last year. Stage direction, set design, and lighting have been entrusted to Marco Arturo Marelli. Conductor Evelino Pidó will be in charge of musical direction. Beginning on December 8th, there will be four performances.
