Conductor Pedro Halffter and singers José Bros, Sergio Escobar, Ruth Iniesta, Francisco Corujo and Itziar de Unde will perform in ABAO-OLBE's upcoming season

On October 20th the 67th season of ABAO-OLBE will begin, with a programme comprised of five great works covering a century of opera history: two repertory titles, La Bohème and Les Pêcheurs de Perles, plus three less commonly performed works, Fidelio, Semiramide and I Lombardi alla prima crociata.
José Bros, well known and highly respected on the Bilbao stage, singing the leading role (Orontes) and Sergio Escobar, making his debut at ABAO as Arvino, will sing in I Lombardi alla prima crociata, Verdi's epic drama.
La Bohème, by Puccini, one of the most beautiful, tragic and moving titles in the Italian opera repertoire, will include the soprano Ruth Iniesta, who is making her ABAO debut in the role of Musetta. In the pit will be Maestro Pedro Halffter, an expert in Puccini's music, returning to ABAO after Manon Lescaut's success in 2016. He will be leading the Euskadiko Orkestra Sinfonikoa.
Rossini's Semiramide, bel canto title par excellence, has Itziar de Unda in the cast. And the Spanish version of the Basque opera Txanozuritxu (Little White Riding Hood), for five musician and eight singers, will have the tenor Francisco Corujo in the cast.
