Damián del Castillo and Vicenç Esteve will sing in the Otello staged at the Liceu of Barcelona

From January 21st to February 7th Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu will be staging Otello, by Giuseppe Verdi. The staging of this production by Deutsche Oper Berlin is in the hands of Andreas Kriegenburg and the musical direction is by Philippe Auguin, who will be conducting the Orquesta Sinfónica y Coro del Gran Teatre del Liceu.
Damián del Castillo will sing the role of Montano in this drama that has become a universal symbol of jealousy and manipulation. Soon we will have the chance to listen to the Jaén-born baritone singing in Simon Boccanegra, also at the Liceu, and in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, at the ABAO-Bilbao.
In this Verdi we will hear the tenor Vicenç Esteve, whom we will also have the opportunity to see at the Teatro Real of Madrid, in Wagner’s opera Parsifal.
