Gregory Kunde and Carmen Romeu to participate in the Rossini Gala offered as a tribute to Zedda at the Opera Vlaanderen

On January 2nd of 2018 Alberto Zedda would have turned 90 years old. Unfortunately the Italian maestro passed away this year, on March 6th, in Pesaro. What could have been a festive birthday concert dedicated to his favourite composer, Rossini, will now be a tribute to the eminent Rossini specialist who developed very close ties with Opera Vlaanderen in past seasons (La Cenerentola, Semiramide, Il Viaggio a Reims, Otello, Armida and Stabat Mater). In this tribute, which will take place on January 6th, we can listen to the créme de la créme of the Italian bel canto singers who collaborated regularly with Zedda, in a programme that offers an exquisite panoramic vision of Rossini's long and intense career. It will feature some of the soloists who have been on the stage of Opera Vlaanderen, such as Carmen Romeu (Otello and Armida) and Gregory Kunde (Otello).
