Gregory Kunde has lead role in Peter Grimes, by Britten, at Les Arts de Valencia

The American tenor Gregory Kunde will sing the title role of Peter Grimes, an opera in three acts with music by Benjamin Britten and English libretto by Montagu Slater, assisted by Britten, Peter Pears, Ronald Duncan and Eric Crozier, based on George Crabbe's poem The Borough. Britten's opera will be staged at the Palau de Les Arts de Valencia from February 1st to February 13th, with production by the Théàtre de la Monnaie and stage direction by Willy Decker. In the pit will be Christopher Franklin conducting the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana and the Cor de la Generalitat. Kunde will be accompanied on stage by Leah Partridge, in the role of Ellen Orford, Robert Bork as Balstrode, Dalia Schaechter as Auntie and Rosalind Plowright in the role of Sedley, among other outstanding singers.
Just a few days later, on February 17th, Gregory Kunde will give an opera recital at the Teatro Cervantes of Málaga, with pianist José Ramón Martín Díaz, in which he will perform works by Bellini, Rossini, Verdi, Puccini and Leoncavallo.
