Gregory Kunde sings Otello at Cincinnati's May Festival with James Conlon conducting The


The Cincinnati May Festival has Otello on the programme for May 21st and it is the American tenor Gregory Kunde who will perform the title role of this opera by Verdi. Maestro James Conlon will be conducting the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the May Festival Chorus in this concert performance of one of the Italian composer's most famous works.
Before that, on May 15th, Gregory Kunde will attend the award ceremony of the International Opera Awards 2016, the most important event in the world opera scene, as he is one of the six nominees in the “best male singer” category.
Also among Gregory Kunde's upcoming engagements are Il Trovatore at London's Royal Opera House and Das Lied von der Erde, by Mahler, which is part of this year's BBC Proms. In addition, Gregory Kunde will open next season at the Teatro Real of Madrid, heading the cast of Verdi’s Otello and performing soon afterwards in Bellini’s Norma. After that he will return to the Royal Opera House to sing once again in Il Trovatore and in Verdi's Otello and also to ABAO, Bilbao, to sing the leading role in Andrea Chénier.
