Gregory Kunde Will Play the Leading Role in Giuseppe Verdi’s “Otello” in Venice and Will Make His Debut as Radamès (“Aida”) in Sao Paulo, Brazil


On July 10th, 14th, and 17th, Venice’s Teatro La Fenice will stage Giuseppe Verdi’s “Otello” at the Cortile di Palazzo Ducale. The show will feature tenor Gregory Kunde in the leading role. Recently, Mr. Kunde was widely acclaimed for the role he played in Valencia, with conductor Zubin Mehta. This time, the show will feature stage direction by Francesco Micheli. Myung-Whun Chung will be conducting the Orchestra e Coro del Teatro La Fenice and the Piccoli Cantori Veneziani. Subsequently, the tenor will make his debut in another Verdian title – he will play the role of Radamès in the “Aida” that will be staged by the Theatro Municipal in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Beginning on August 9th, there will be five performances of this opera, featuring stage direction by Marco Gandini. John Neschling will be conducting the Orquestra Sinfónica Municipal de Sao Paulo and the Coral Lírico.
