“El Gato Montés” at Seville’s Teatro de la Maestranza featuring Luis Cansino in the role of Hormigón


On May 6th, 7th, and 8th, Seville’s Teatro de la Maestranza will stage the opera entitled “El Gato Montés”, with music and libretto by Manuel Penella. Baritone Luis Cansino will play the role of Hormigón. The show has been produced by Madrid’s Teatro de La Zarzuela, features stage direction by José Carlos Plaza, and has received the Best Spanish Opera Production Award at the Premios Líricos Teatro Campoamor de Oviedo. The baritone successfully played that part during the show’s premiere. Cristóbal Soler will be conducting the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla and Coro de la Asociación Amigos del Teatro de la Maestranza.
