“La Bohème” featuring Carmen Romeu as Musetta at Bilbao’s Palacio Euskalduna


ABAO’s 61st Opera Season will come to an end with Giacomo Puccini’s “La Bohème”. Soprano Carmen Romeu will be playing the role of Musetta, a part in which she was recently widely acclaimed at Valencia’s Palau de Les Arts. On this occasion, the show has been produced by the Fundación Ópera de Oviedo, featuring stage direction by Emilio Sagi. Beginning on May 18th, five performances will be staged at Bilbao’s Palacio Euskalduna. Miguel Ángel Gómez Martínez will be conducting the Orquesta del Teatro Regio di Parma. Subsequently, on June 1st, the singer will participate once again in the Festival Terras sem Sombra 2013, in Vila de Frades, Portugal. Ms. Romeu will be the soloist in Franz Joseph Haydn’s “The Seasons”, featuring the Coro do Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, the Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, and musical direction by Donato Renzetti.
