Les Arts takes La malquerida to the stage under the direction of Emilio López


La malquerida, a zarzuela by Manuel Penella based on the play of the same name by Jacinto Benavente, will be at the Palau de Les Arts of Valencia starting on April 11th. The stage director of this new version, a coproduction of Los Teatros del Canal and Les Arts, is Emilio López. The director has put the well-known Hacienda de El Soto, where the story of Raimunda, Acacia and Esteban takes place, somewhere in Mexico, creating a setting based on Mexican film of the 1930s.  La malquerida will be on stage until April 18th and conducting will be by Santiago Serrate.
