Lianna Haroutounian sings in the double programme Cavallería Rusticana/Pagliacci at the San Francisco Opera

Between September 9th and 30th the San Francisco Opera will be staging a double programme consisting of Cavallería Rusticana and Pagliacci. The Armenian soprano Lianna Haroutounian will sing the role of Nedda in Pagliacci, a drama in two acts and prologue by the Italian composer Ruggero Leoncavallo. For these performances Haroutounian returns to the Bay Area theatre where she sang to great acclaim last season in Madama Butterfly, in the role of Cio-Cio-San. The musical director is Daniele Callegari and the production, which comes from the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, is the creation of José Cura.

Soon we will see Lianna Haroutounian again in Madama Butterfly, at the Wiener Staatsoper and at the Gran Teatro del Liceu of Barcelona.
