Lisbon’s Teatro Nacional São Carlos presents “La Gioconda” with Luis Cansino as Barnaba


Lisbon’s Teatro Nacional de São Carlos presents Ponchielli’s “La Gioconda.” With baritone Luis Cansino as Barnaba. Although this is the most famous opera of the composer, performances of this piece are rare, as it requires six outstanding soloists. Teatro São Carlos present’s a concert version, on May 13th, 15th and the 17th, with the Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa and the Coro do Teatro Nacional São Carlos, conducted by Antonio Pirolli. After, on May 22nd, Luis Cansino will participate in a Zarzuela and Spanish Opera Gala organized by the Asociación Gayarre Amigos de la Opera (AGAO) at Pamplona’s Teatro Gayarre, with the Orquesta “Europa Musicale,” under the conduction of Miguel Ortega.
