Maestro Manuel Coves conducts the Don Quijote of the Compañía Nacional de Danza, at the Teatre Principal de Palma

With music performed live by the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears and conducted by Maestro Manuel Coves, the dancer, choreographer and director of the CND, José Carlos Martínez, offers his own Don Quijote at the Teatre Principal de Palma on June 15th and 16th. Using the well-known score by Ludwig Minkus, the CND director developed a ballet reminiscent of the romantic versions by Petipa and Grosk. His choreography had its premiere in 2015 at the Teatro de la Zarzuela of Madrid.

At upcoming engagements Maestro Coves will be conducting Alento with the Ballet Nacional de España, to be performed at the Gran Teatre del Liceu and Orfeo ed Euridice, which is to be staged at the Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires.
