Maestro Manuel Coves conducts the “Viva Madrid” anthology at Madrid’s Teatros del Canal with baritone César San Martín


Madrid’s Teatros del Canal presents “Viva Madrid,” a zarzuela anthology with music by Bretón, Moreno Torroba, Chueca, Chapí and Vives. This most popular pieces of Madrid’s traditional zarzuela will be performed by baritone César San Martín, alongside an excellent cast, and Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid (ORCAM), all  conducted by Maestro Manuel Coves. The show’s name was taken from the number “Viva Madrid” from the zarzuela “Don Manolito.” This production by Teatros del Canal with stage direction by Jaime Martorell premiered to high acclaim in 2009 and was also performed in Bogotá. Maestro Manuel Coves will conduct twelve of the fifteen
scheduled shows at Teatros del Canal’s Sala Roja from March 14th to the 30th. Baritone César San Martín will perform in every show.
