Maestro Pedro Halffter conducts Beethoven and Bruckner with the Filarmónica de Gran Canaria

On May 13th, the Madrid-born conductor Pedro Halffter will hold the baton before the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, of which he is the principal conductor, in a performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto no. 3 and Bruckner's Symphony no. 7. Iván Martín will be the piano soloist, who thus continues his performances of Beethoven's piano concertos with the OFGC, on this occasion with Pedro Halffter. Among Halffter's recent activities are his debuts with the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and at the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, his participation in Otello at the Teatro de la Maestranza and in Manon Lescaut at ABAO-Palacio Euskalduna, in a concert with the Sinfónica de Navarra and a symphonic-choral version of Tannhäuser with the Filarmónica de Málaga. Soon we will have the opportunity to see him at Madrid's Teatro Real, in the world premiere of the new orchestration, by Halffter himself, of Viktor Ullmann's Der Kaiser von Atlantis, and then again at the Teatro de la Maestranza, in the stage premiere in Spain of Der König Kandaules, by Alexander von Zemlinsky.
