Maestro Pedro Halffter to conduct Adriana Lecouvreur at Seville's Teatro de la Maestranza

The opera season at the Maestranza comes to an end with the premiere of the tragic story about the actress Adriana Lecouvreur, a drama that the composer Francesco Cilea made into the highest expression of the genre known as verismo. This melodramatic love story, which unfolds amidst political and sentimental intrigues and has a tragic ending, will be on stage between May 21st and June 2nd. It will be conducted by Maestro Pedro Halffter, leading the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla and the Chorus of the Association of Friends of the Teatro de la Maestranza. Lorenzo Mariani will be directing this production by the Teatro di San Carlo of Naples.
Pedro Haffter will soon be conducting the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid at the Teatro Real and we will also see him in La Traviata at the Fondazione Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi di Trieste.
