Maestro Pedro Halffter to conduct Andrea Chenier at Seville's Teatro de la Maestranza


Pedro Halffter Caro will be conducting the ROSS and the Chorus of the Association of Friends of the Maestranza, along with an outstanding group of singers, in Andrea Chenier, the opera composed by Giordano to a libretto by Luigi Illica, based loosely on the life of the French poet André Chénier. The story, set in Paris in the late the 18th century, during the tumultuous times of the French Revolution, will be on stage from June 5th through June 14th.

Before these performances Maestro Halffter will be conducting a concert with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid. It will be on May 14th at the Auditorio Nacional. His upcoming engagements also include Der Kaiser von Atlantis/Der Diktator at the Teatro de la Maestranza and the Ópera de Tenerife and also Der fliegende Holländer at the ABAO Bilbao Ópera.
