Maestro Pietro Rizzo will conduct “Rigoletto” at the New National Theatre in Tokyo

The New National Theatre in Tokyo will present a new production of Giuseppe Verdi’s “Rigoletto”, on October 3rd. Maestro Pietro Rizzo will lead the musical direction, returning to the same stage where he conducted Verdi’s “Il Trovatore”, in 2011, to great acclaim. He will be conducting the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and the New National Theatre Chorus. German Andreas Kriegenburg will be the stage director of the new production, after having recently put on a performance of “Der Ring des Nibelungen” in Munich. Seven shows will be performed. In November, maestro Pietro Rizzo will conduct another Verdi opera, “La forza del destino,” during the ABAO’s next season.
