Maestro Vasily Petrenko conducts “Der Fliegende Holländer” in St. Petersburg


St. Petersburg’s Mikhailovsky Theatre presents Wagner’s “Der Fliegende Holländer” on October 16th and 19th, with musical direction by Vasily Petrenko. The production, premiered in the July of this year, has stage direction by Vasily Barkhatov. Vasily Petrenko has been Mikhailovsky Theatre’s Principal Guest Conductor since July of 2012, the same theatre where he started his brilliant career. On Petrenko’s future operatic engagements stand out Georges Bizet’s Carmen at Zurich’s opera.
