Manuel Coves conducts La sonnambula by Bellini with the Real Filharmonía de Galicia

The Real Filharmonía de Galicia will give, this October 6th, a concert performance of La sonnambula, one of the three best known and most frequently performed of Vincenzo Bellini's operas, along with Norma and I Puritani. With an Italian libretto by Felice Romani, based on a vaudeville act and ballet by Eugène Scribe, this opera semiseria in two acts is considered one of the highest expressions of the Italian Romantic bel canto tradition. The concert will take place at the Auditorio de Galicia. For this event Maestro Manuel Coves has been put in charge of the musical direction. The Jaén-born conductor will be leading the Real Filharmonía de Galicia, the Coro Gaos and an outstanding cast of singers.
Maestro Coves' upcoming engagements include Roméo et Juliette, with the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Sorolla with the Ballet Nacional de España at the Teatro Real, Electra, also with the BNE, at the Teatro de la Zarzuela and Don Quijote, with the Compañía Nacional de Danza, at the Teatro de la Maestranza of Seville.
