Manuel Coves conducts Don Carlo at Teatros del Canal, with Damián del Castillo and Francisco Crespo in the cast

On February 28th, March 2nd, and March 5th Teatros del Canal will present Don Carlo, the first production as stage director for the actor and playwright Albert Boadella, ex-director of the group Els Joglars. It was staged last July in El Escorial, as part of the San Lorenzo Summer Festival, and now it can be seen in Madrid, at Teatros del Canal, under the musical direction of Manuel Coves. We will soon have another chance to see the Andalusian conductor at work, also at Teatros del Canal, in a production of El Amor Brujo: el fuego y la palabra, with stage direction by La Fura dels Baus.
Participating in Don Carlo, among others, will be the baritone Damián del Castillo in the role of Rodrigo, the Marquis of Posa, Don Carlo’s friend and confidant, and also the bass Francisco Crespo, in the role of the monk, and another baritone, Germán Olvera.
