Manuel Coves to conduct the premiere of BNE's Electra at the Teatro de la Zarzuela of Madrid


On December 9th the Ballet Nacional de España will premiere Electra at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, under the musical direction of Maestro Coves, who will be conducting the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid. Electra, created by Antonio Ruz with the collaboration of ballerina/choreographer Olga Pericet, is the first complete plot-based work to be presented by the Ballet Nacional de España since it has been under the direction of Antonio Najarro. The stage design is by Paco Azorín and its music was composed by Pablo Martín Caminero, Diego Losada and Moisés Sánchez. Performances will continue through December 23rd.
Maestro Coves' future engagements include Don Quijote with the Compañia Nacional de Danza at the Teatro de la Maestranza and El Pintor at the Teatros del Canal, in collaboration with the Teatro Real.
