Manuel Coves will conduct special programme at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, commemorating 40th anniversary of Ballet Nacional de España

The Spanish ballet company turns 40 years old this year and it is celebrating with a special programme -designed by its director, Antonio Najarro- that includes several of the most emblematic choreographies and extracts of creations by great figures who have marked the trajectory of Spanish dance.

Joining the celebration will be Maestro Manuel Coves, who will lead the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, the ensemble providing live music for the programme.

The commemorative show, which will review all the styles of Danza Española and their evolution over the company's 40 years of existence, will be on stage from December 8th through December 23rd at the Teatro de la Zarzuela of Madrid.

Maestro Coves' future engagements include Carmen by the Compañía Nacional de Danza, at Dresden's Semperoper, and a concert by the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppi Verdi, with guitarrist Pepe Romero as soloist.
